Knotline Marine is an MGA (Managing General Agency) that is authorised by certain Underwriters at Lloyds of London to underwrite insurance on their behalf.
We work exclusively with specialist insurance brokers worldwide, who will liaise with us directly on your behalf. Our underwriters have developed strong relationships with all the leading marine insurance brokers in London, the United States, and across Europe.
Knotline Marine was founded by two industry-leading underwriters – Liam Talbot and Adrian Mann – who specialise in marine insurance.
We solely focus on providing marine insurance for yacht owners and commercial fish boat owners allowing us to focus on providing the best service and coverages possible.
Insureds can expect clear documentation outlining all coverages, competitive premiums, and A+ rated capacity as standard.
Brokers can expect best in class service levels, a dedicated account handler/underwriter and a flexible underwriting approach.
Claims will be handled by our claims administration partner who are market leaders in the field.
Liam brings over 14 years of marine insurance experience, specialising in yacht underwriting.
He joined Yachtinsure shortly after its formation in 2012 and played a key role in developing the North American yacht portfolio, ultimately progressing to Lead underwriter. Liam has extensive experience underwriting surplus lines business on behalf of Lloyd’s of London, as well as admitted insurance for the US market. He has also provided consultancy services across the yacht, charter, and boat club sectors.
Adrian brings over 15 years of marine insurance experience, specialising in both yacht and commercial marine risks.
He began his insurance career in 2010 after relocating to the UK from New Zealand. In 2013, he joined Yachtinsure, where he quickly advanced from insurance technician to senior yacht underwriter. After nearly nine years with the company, Adrian sought a new challenge and, in January 2023, joined Helvetia Global Solutions to focus on UK and Irish fishing vessels, as well as international fishing fleets.
